Immediate-Past Montgomery Bar Association President Joins Timoney Knox
Timoney Knox, LLP is pleased to announce that Eric B. Smith, Esquire, has joined the firm, which is comprised of 25 attorneys representing a diverse practice area. Smith, of Bryn Mawr, focuses his practice on commercial and real estate litigation, business disputes and municipal litigation.
Through his commercial litigation practice, he represents clients in contract and warranty disputes, as well as construction conflicts, mechanics’ liens, contractor and subcontractor payment act claims, and unfair trade practice claims. As part of his real estate and title litigation practice, Smith handles matters concerning adverse possession, easements and boundary disputes. His practice also focuses on home rule law and municipal litigation.
He practices in the five-county Philadelphia metropolitan area and the Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania.
He has served as a court-appointed master-in-partition for the Orphans’ Court Division of the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County. For the last 13 years, he was the solicitor for the City of Reading Charter Board. In 2014 and 2015, he also served as a part-time solicitor for Montgomery County, assisting the Controller’s Office.
Since 1998, Smith has been actively involved with the Montgomery Bar Association. He served in a variety of roles, including President in 2017, President-Elect in 2016 and Vice President in 2015. He previously was Editor-in-Chief of the Montgomery County Law Reporter and Chair of the Young Lawyers Section.
A 1997 Juris Doctor graduate of The Dickinson School of Law, Smith has been elected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers listing every year since 2013. He has been recognized among Best Lawyers in America in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
When he is not practicing law, Smith remains active in the community. He is a board member of the Montgomery County Child Advocacy Project and since 2007 has served as the Judge of Elections for Lower Merion Township, District 6-1.
