The Education Law Group represents parents and students in education-related matters, including special education law. We work to secure appropriate educational programs for children with disabilities and help our clients obtain compensatory education, school placements, tuition reimbursement, and other available remedies. We also represent students in matters involving school bullying, discrimination, harassment, hazing, transgender rights, sexual and/or physical abuse, and student discipline.

Wills, Trusts, and Estates Law

The Wills, Trusts, and Estates Group represents individuals, families, and business owners in estate planning and the efficient transfer of assets from one generation to the next. Our attorneys have experience in federal, state, and local taxation, and provide all levels of planning to our clients, from relatively straightforward estate plans to sophisticated tax planning and structuring of transactions. We also have expertise in planning for individuals with special needs.

Business, Corporate, and Tax Law

Timoney Knox’s Business, Corporate, and Tax Law Group has the knowledge, insight, perspective, and skills required to regularly assist both established and start-up companies with complex corporate and transactional matters. Our clients turn to us knowing they will receive excellent service and advice based on industry knowledge, economic factors, market opportunities, managed risk, and a comprehensive command of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing our clients’ businesses.

Commercial and Civil Litigation Law

Timoney Knox’s Litigation Group will think through your case and communicate clearly with you to ensure that we effectively defend your interests before, during, and after litigation. We attend to our clients’ cases with integrity and a commitment to reaching a satisfying conclusion. No matter the occasion or the methods of dispute resolution involved–in a legal filing, a courtroom, a negotiation with opposing counsel, or in arbitration or mediation–we will stand with you, think creatively about how best to advance your interests, and advocate strongly for your legal position. Our goal is to prevail and to prevail on your terms.

Family Law

Family matters are often complex. No matter the situation, you need an experienced and caring lawyer to help you understand the law, to watch out for your best interests, and to make sure your rights and responsibilities are being fairly judged. The family lawyers at Timoney Knox can help you through all aspects of separation and establishing the grounds for a divorce; child support and spousal support; custody of children; protection from abuse; equitable distribution of property; and alimony. We also can assist you with other family law issues such as child adoption, prenuptial agreements, name changes, or welcoming a new spouse or stepchildren into the family with a new will and estate planning.

Zoning and Municipal Law

Timoney Knox has deep experience representing municipal governments, townships, boroughs, water and sewer authorities, and other local agencies in matters involving the many complexities of municipal law and zoning. We understand the pressures elected officials and other municipal employees face as they make their decisions in public forums where clear communication is essential. Our experienced attorneys can help either an applicant, a planning commission, a zoning board, or elected officials come to decisions aligned correctly with the rights and responsibilities of all parties involved.

Employment Law

Timoney Knox’s Employment Law Group has the expertise to meet the legal challenges faced by both employees and employers. Employees retain our services for assistance and advice on matters such as workplace conflict and terminations; discrimination claims associated with national origin, religion, sex, age, or disability; wage and hour disputes; harassment in the work place; workplace safety issues; class action litigation; salary negotiations; severance agreements; and non-competition and confidentiality agreements. We also work with employers on these same issues, including helping them navigate the complex web of federal and state laws that must be considered in hiring and firing decisions. Whatever your situation, our employment attorneys will provide successful, practical, and cost-effective solutions to meet your unique needs.

Consumer Protection

Most businesses offer their products and services in a fair and ethical manner, but unfortunately there are also times when businesses take advantage of their customers with unethical, unlawful, predatory, and deceptive business practices. The Timoney Knox Consumer Protection Group approaches each consumer issue with the overriding goal of ensuring that its clients are treated fairly and that their rights are protected. Our team of experienced lawyers will be there for every step of the process.

Real Estate Law

Timoney Knox’s real estate attorneys are experienced in assisting our clients in buying and selling property; in mortgaging and borrowing against real estate; in interpreting and applying the wide variety of local land use and zoning laws; and in representing the needs and concerns of individuals, homeowners’ associations, condominiums, and planned communities. We can also help you with tax assessment appeals, mortgage foreclosures, and sheriff’s sales. We always strive to get an agreement all parties can live with and that appropriately addresses our clients’ concerns.
