  • Established Trusts to preserve and maximize “stretch out” of inherited retirement accounts for young beneficiaries
  • Counseled Trustees on Special Needs Trust spending guidelines
  • Served as Counsel to Trustee for Trusts for the benefit of children of a successful entrepreneur
  • Defended Executrix at hearing against claims of theft and destruction of personal property
  • Represented beneficiary in forcing Executor to vacate and sell Estate’s real estate
  • Secured exclusive possession of marital home during a divorce
  • Negotiated favorable Marital Settlement Agreements, including detailed terms for sharing the cost of college tuition, room and board, health coverage and alimony for a disable spouse
  • Counseled clients on developing areas of family law including updated support guidelines, mediation, collaborative law, divorced parenting apps, parent coordinators, and recently expanded grandparent and third party custody rights

Deborah Miller (“Debbie”) joined Timoney Knox on April 15, 2019, as an associate in the Trusts and Estates practice, and is cross-listed in the Family Law practice.  She has been an active member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, including the Probate and Tax Section since 2012 and the Family Law Section since 2010.  Her practice focuses on estate planning and administration, as well as representing clients in family court and orphans’ court.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Debbie attended Lehigh University (BA with High Honors 1990), and University Pennsylvania School of Law (J.D. 1993, Associate Editor Comparative Labor Law Journal), and is admitted to the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Debbie regularly volunteers for the Senior Law Helpline.  She finds it rewarding to guide seniors through their Estate and Family Law concerns.
