Christine M. (O’Brien) Gordon joined Timoney Knox as an associate in May 2011. She is a member of Timoney Knox’s School and Special Education Law group and Commercial and Civil Litigation group and focuses her practice on special education law and civil rights litigation.

Ms. Gordon counsels families of children with disabilities on issues arising under various federal laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. She represents clients at IEP meetings, disciplinary hearings, and administrative due process hearings, and has extensive experience performing appellate work in special education matters in federal courts. She works to help clients in securing appropriate educational programs and services, as well as in obtaining compensatory education, private school placements, tuition reimbursement, and other available remedies. She also has experience assisting in matters involving school bullying, harassment, hazing, transgender rights and sexual and/or physical abuse.

She earned her law degree from Villanova University in 2008. While in law school, she was selected to write for the Villanova Environmental Law Journal and was a board member for a legal fraternity focused on ethics within the legal profession. She also volunteered her time providing pro bono legal work through various programs offered through the law school and served as a student volunteer at the Special Olympics event on campus.

She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Emory University in 2005. While attending Emory, she was on the Dean’s List and was selected by the faculty for academic recognition in the Psi Chi National Honor Society, the Mortar Board Senior National Honor Society and Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. She was a two-year captain of the nationally-ranked varsity softball team and competed twice in the NCAA College World Series, finishing 3rd and 4th in the nation. She served two years as the President of Emory’s Varsity Athletic Council and was the recipient of Emory’s Athletic Department’s 2005 Leadership Award.

She is a member of the Pennsylvania and Montgomery County Bar Associations and participated in the Montgomery County Bar Association’s 2016 Leadership Academy. She is a former Trustee on the Board of Trustees for Northern Children’s Services, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing behavioral and mental health services to at-risk children and their families, and previously served on the Board of Directors for the York Hospital Auxiliary. A Bucks County native and graduate of Villa Joseph Marie High School, she currently resides with her husband and daughter in Ivyland, Pennsylvania.
